About This Wine:
The fruit for this wine came from our high altitude vineyard in the Red Hills of Lake County. These vines are grown with limited yields so as to enhance color, structure and flavor intensity. The season of 2004 was incredibly early, in fact one of the earliest on record. It started with an early bud break, through bloom and set. The spring was warm and the summer quite even, lending the grapes terrific growing conditions. While the season was early, the normal ‘hang time’ was achieved allowing good development of flavor, enhanced by our practices of balancing the vine crop load.
