About This Wine:
The fruit for this wine came from our vineyards in the Red Hills of Lake County. These vines are grown with limited yields so as to enhance color, structure and flavor intensity. The growing season of 2005 was generally cool and long, yielding terrific results. We saw a slightly late budbreak with good sunshine days followed by a slightly later bloom. After a Spring like March, the weather was generally cool through the entire season other than a hot spell early in July, while the months of August and September were mild. This lead to a long hang time which encouraged flavor, color and tannin development.
